Bloomberg: Bloomberg Certification (BCER)

Registering to Start a Bloomberg Course

In order to register to start the course you must first log into the Bloomberg terminal.  Then once logged in, type BCER <GO> and follow the prompts to register.  Detailed step-by-step instructions in the guide posted below go through the complete process for registering and accessing these online courses.

Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) course

Bloomberg Market Concepts is Bloomberg’s certification program. Below is a description and requirements for the program.  There are four modules. You must complete all four to get the certificate of completion. If you want to learn more about a subject you are welcome to just do the modules that interest you but you will not get a certificate of completion.

Bloomberg Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Course

The Bloomberg ESG Certificate is a self-paced; interactive e-learning course that shows learners how to implement ESG strategies and prepare ESG reports for regulators through the lens of a fictitious buy-side asset management firm. By taking ESG; you will: Describe ESG trends and common ESG investment strategies; Explain how shareholder activism influences corporate behavior: Practice tasks within various stages of the investment process.

Important Notes:

There is no charge for the certification when done on the terminal. It can also be done online but only for a fee.

There is no longer any pass/fail threshold. It is a certificate of completion

The full certification process takes approximately 10 hours for each course.

You do not have to do it all at once. You can pause the videos at any time.
