About the Guide
This guide was developed by the Stem Cells and Human Enhancement University Seminar team to bring together different types of resources required to understand stem cell science, its policies, ethics, law, public opinion, etc.
The broad themes of the guide are: Stem Cell Science, Human Therapy, Public Policy & Law and Philosophy & Theology. Each theme is subdivided into various areas and within these are found links to articles, newsfeeds, reference sources, blogs/wikis, books, web sites, and various multimedia resources.
While there is a large amount of content, it is not exhaustive, nor is it meant to be. However, feel free to suggest resources that you feel will add to the educational richness of the guide by emailing Regina Raboin, Science Research & Instruction Librarian or any of the seminar's faculty.

Stem Cells and Human Enhancement: Scientific Frontiers, Ethics, and Policy
This University Seminar will provide a dynamic forum for its students to explore how societies can balance their desire for progress in personal health with their respect for alternative religious, cultural and societal views about the origins of human life. This seminar will delve into scientific, economic, theological and moral controversies that have tremendous impact on the well-being of individuals and societies. Ultimately, this seminar will allow its participants to be informed, empowered and fully-engaged in the debate over the development and use of stem cells and other similar conflicts, and will guide their understanding of the need to balance society's capabilities and conscience.
