This guide has the materials used in the second half of the lab section of Earth and Ocean Sciences 042 in Spring 2019. The five sessions of the lab focused on providing students with an introduction to geographic information systems (GIS) in general and working up to creating an isopach map using real-world data. The location chosen for the sessions was the Athabasca Basin in northern Saskatchewan, Canada, and the data came from the Saskatchewan Geological Survey.
