What is a Literature Review?
A narrative paper collecting and discussing the important scholarship on a given topic.
A literature review should:
- Introduce your topic
- Identify key concepts and researchers on your topic
- Synthesize the major ideas and arguments in the scholarly conversation
- Identify critical gaps, disagreements, and overlooked perspectives in methodology and research
- Suggest future directions for further study, i.e. your own potential research
