Research Lifecycle

Research follows a process, which can be imagined as the Research Lifecycle. A researcher follows the research lifecycle from a project's conception to its completion.

The Research Lifecycle as shown below is from Jisc. An interactive version of this figure can be found on the Jisc website.

Other research lifecycle models can be found at the Network of the National Library of Medicine.

A graphic of the research lifecycle process. This begins with ideas, flows to partners, moves to proposal writing, which is followed by the research process, and then publication before restarting with ideas. The research process has its own cycle, which begins with simulate, experiment, and observe, followed by manage the data, analyze data, and share data before returning to the research lifecycle.
