A brief introduction to resources

What is the LGBTQ+ Pop-Up LIbrary?

Pop-Up Libraries are themed collections of books the Tufts libraries owns that are brought to places students, faculty, and staff are to help facilitate discovery of reading material.

In the fall of 2019, the TUSDM LGBTQA Club wanted to do something special to celebrate LGBT History Month in October. Amanda Nevius, our dental liaison, suggested curating an LGBTQ+ Pop-Up Library for use first with this group and then to "pop-up" with other groups on this campus. The student club was excited and so our first Pop-Up Library was on!

You can see the complete list of the books curated for the collection below. If you missed the Pop-Up Library, don't despair! You can still check-out the books later - even if they're from another campus. You can simply request to have the book delivered to Hirsh for you, and that's totally free.

*Our thanks to Tish librarians Ari Gofman and Leo Settoducato for their work spearheading Pop-Up Libraries at Tufts.

Leisure Reading Featuring Bisexual+ Identities

Please note this collection uses the definition of Bisexuality+ endorsed by the Bi Resource Center:

The Bisexual Resource Center, and many other leaders in the bi+ community uses “bi” “bisexual” and “bi+” to mean anyone who is attracted romantically and/or sexually to more than one gender, otherwise called “non-monosexual” or “middle” identities. This includes labels like pansexual, queer, omnisexual, sexually fluid, and more, and even folks who decide not to take a label. In this way, we hope to unite our community even if we’re using different personal or individual labels.
