Resources to support greater diversity in the classroom

Timeline

  • Secure Bridging Differences/ Tufts Innovates grants
  • Hire RAs to audit syllabi readings for gender and geographic home of authors
  • Discuss project objectives with professors
  • Have each professor select a student RA who is familiar with course material or subject area (perhaps someone who has previously taken the course)
  • Present results of audits to professors
  • In consultation with librarians, professor and RA may choose topic areas or class weeks for investigation
  • RAs work with librarians to source new material
  • RAs present their research to professor
  • Library purchases material not available in the collection
