As an easy-to-use tool with features for embedding audio, video, and interactive scrolly-telling, it is also popular to use even without maps. TimelineJS is an open-source tool that enables anyone to build visually rich, interactive timelines. Beginners can create a timeline using nothing more than a Google spreadsheet.
Media equipment is available at the front desk of Tisch library. There are two ways Tufts ID holders can check out media equipment: at the front circulation desk located on the second level of Tisch library, no reservation required, or by making a request in Jumbosearch.
As a Tufts student you have access to Adobe Creative Cloud at a discounted rate. Software included in the suite is available for free on computers in the Digital Design Studio. The Adobe Creative Cloud includes applications for video, audio, design, animation and website creation and editing.
Omeka.net is a platform for archiving and exhibits. A free version is available with limited plugin and theme options. The Wired! Lab at Duke University has detailed video tutorials of the Omeka Classic platform, which is the same as Omeka.net once you are working with your site. The tutorial also covers Dublin Core metadata which is an essential component of a digital archive.
