The Digital Design Studio (DDS) is a creative space and community of practice for critical approaches to media and making. We offer mentoring and collaboration for anyone curious about learning to push disciplinary and methodological boundaries through new approaches. We’re part of a broader digital scholarship community at Tufts, which includes the Data Lab and Tufts Maker Network.
The DDS is located on the third floor of Tisch library in room 303. To see when the DDS Desk is staffed check out the DDS desk hours on the Tisch Library Hours page.
The Tisch Digital Design Studio (DDS) features a recording room by reservation for both video and audio recording. The space is 12' x 16' and is equipped with the following hardware and software:

Learning to use new software takes time and practice. DDS offers select open workshops for those looking to get hands on training. We also highly recommend signing up for Udemy and following their training videos for the software you are working in. These video tutorials are comprehensive and cover almost every tool you’ll need to start working in a new software. For instructions on how to sign-up check out this guide provided by TTS.
DDS Staff is also available to help troubleshoot any questions you may have so don't hesitate to stop by!
For students wanting to borrow video cameras, microphones, or tripods for field recording, the Tisch Circulation Desk has a limited equipment pool for short-term loan at no cost.
DDS Staff are happy to help orient students to all equipment located in our space or at the Circulation desk.
