Tisch library circulates a variety of media equipment at the front desk. There are two ways Tufts ID holders can check out media equipment: at the front circulation desk located on the second level of Tisch library, no reservation required, or by making a request in Jumbosearch. Regardless of how you choose to get equipment, you need to sign the Media Equipment Policy form once per academic year. Requests made by patrons without a signed Media Equipment Policy form are not guaranteed. 

Video kits

Smartphone recording kit - This Smartphone Recording Kit is equipped with a JOBY Gorillapod flexible tripod which can be used as a tripod, wrap around objects, or be used as a handle for stabilization, a JOBY Griptight Pro mount to hold and orient your phone, a Zoom microphone with windscreen, a 200x microscope lens, a dimmable light and Sony headphones for playback.

Video recording kit - This Video Recording kit is equipped with a Sony A6600 photo/video camera, an external microphone with a windscreen for a more directional control of audio.  Windscreens help to reduce unwanted wind or air noise from the

Recording room

The Digital Design Studio (DDS) Recording Room is on the third floor of the Tisch Library, inside room 303. This space is designed as an educational space for critically engaging with media. While the service is available to all members of the Tufts community, it is oriented towards academic courses and extracurricular activities for students. Priority will be given to course-related project work. Please review the DDS Recording Room Policies below prior to making a reservation, and note that the Recording Room is only available when the DDS desk is staffed.

Software

DDS supports 16 Mac workstations running a variety of media software including:

  • Adobe Premiere
  • Final Cut Pro X
  • iMovie
