Crowns by
Sandro Miller is a 60-year-old Caucasian male with ancestral roots in Italy, Germany, and America. He is married to a most beautiful 47-year-old Black woman, ClaudeAline Nazaire, whose ancestral roots are in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and America. His beautiful wife was the inspiration for this photographic project, a documentation of the creative, prideful, and personally expressive reality that announces Black heritage and Black tradition. The author shared the pointed, upbeat ideal of Black self-expression and idealization. He documented body art and many unspoken ways in which Black women declare their freedom - by choice and sensibility - by sculpting their managed, structured hair. Each portrait in this project recognizes and honors women's inventive power and beauty while celebrating, at the same time, their social endurance and cultural memory - the triumph of biology and genetics.

Dandy Lion: the Black Dandy and Street Style by

A journey through circa 500 years of fashion history as reflected in art: how have artists reacted to extreme phenomena such as slashed clothing, codpieces, the crinoline, or the dinner jacket? Fashion is an economic factor as well as a seismograph of social sensitivities, an expression of longing, and an instrument for mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion. In the modern age of global homogenization through "fast fashion," this exhibition aims to provide a critical and at the same time sensory overview of clothing in art and the problematic and subversive moments in the history of fashion through the techniques of painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, and film.

Critic and curator Jeppe Ugelvig recounts a little explored near-history of art/fashion hybridity through the genre- defying practices of Bernadette Corporation, Susan Cianciolo, BLESS and DIS, exploring their experimental approaches to fashion production between the art and fashion worlds in a time of radical societal change. Through a rich selection of rare and previously unseen photographs and ephemera, the book depicts fashion work in all its exhilarating complexity, tracing it from the atelier of the garment-maker to the post-production editing suite of the fashion photographer. Ugelvig's comprehensive account connects a mythological 1990s generation of collaborative, DIY fashion producers in New York, Paris and Berlin to the digital and increasingly corporate systems of fashion of the 2010s, where aesthetic activities such as styling and creative directing have become ubiquitous. Indigenous Woman by
This is not a magazine about fashion, lifestyle, or celebrity. Indigenous Woman is an independent art publication dedicated to the celebration of Mayan Indian heritage, the navigation of contemporary indigeneity, and the ever-evolving self-image. It is a vision, an overture, a provocation. The word "indigenous" here is used to refer to native cultures from a particular region, but also as a synonym for the natural and innate. It signifies a real, authentic, native-born woman. There was a time when I believed there was no such title for me to claim.
