Persistent Vision is a digital exhibition that highlights the digitized materials from the DC punk collections at the University of Maryland’s Special Collections in Performing Arts (SCPA). Home to more than fifty linear feet and thousands of items related to DC punk, SCPA seeks to tell the story of DC punk through the voices of its participants and the objects they left behind—fliers, fanzines, photographs, recordings, and more.

The Jewish Zine Archive began in 2019 and is a physical & digital archive for zines made by writers & artists who identify as or with Jewishness and/or Judaism. JZA is housed alongside other community-based archival projects at the Blacklidge Community Collective on Tohono O’odham and Pasquai Yaqui lands also called Tucson, AZ. The BCC is a space for experiments in autonomy, mutual aid, and living/fighting together. You can learn more about the space at bcctucson.org

This library elevates and makes accessible the oftentimes disenfranchised and marginalized voices represented through these typically free publications. Moving forward the scope of our zine collection policy will be focused on subjects and genres ranging from DIY, history, and art that deal with topics like housing, environmentalism, and activism, especially those emanating from New York City.

POC Zine Project's mission is to makes zines by POC (People of Color) easy to find, distribute and share.

Started in October of 2012, the Sherwood Forest Zine Library is a lending library of over 2500 zines in central Austin. We are open every other Saturday from 2-6PM or by special appointment. Our collection spans decades, countries, and topics and we are always adding new zines to the catalogue. Membership to the library is free.

Ian MacKaye (b. 1962) is an American musician, record producer, and co-owner of Dischord Records. The Ian MacKaye digital collection of punk fanzines contains material from 1978 to 2020, and remains ongoing; the bulk of the material dates from 1986 to 2003, when MacKaye was a member of the punk band Fugazi. This collection contains digitized versions of print fanzines that MacKaye collected pertaining to punk music, culture, and communities both domestic
and international. Many of the items contained in this collection feature interviews with MacKaye or other members of associated bands.

The cartonera publishing phenomenon began in Buenos Aires in 2003 and was spearheaded by writers and artists interested in reconfiguring the conditions in which literary art is produced and consumed.
