Lighting Reflector Disk

Getting Started

This accessory is used to reflect light onto your subject when taking photos or video using the DSLR cameras included in either the Photography Kit or the Video Recording Kit. It may also be used in conjunction with the Lighting Kit to achieve your desired lighting set up and exposure (please check these out separately).

Position the disk so that it is catching the main light source and bouncing it back onto your subject.  Depending on your setup, you will need an additional person to hold the disk or you may be able to ask your subject to do so. You may also attach the reflector to a stand.

Choosing a Side

The White Side:

  • The white side will bounce a softer, even light on your subject.  When outdoors, this side is typically used in direct sunlight.

The Silver Side:

  • The silver side will bounce a harsher, more noticeable light on your subject.  When outdoors, this side is typically used in the shade.
