BMJ's evidence-based, point-of-care resource incorporates the systematic reviews from its Clinical Evidence and so combined current evidence with expert opinion and guidelines.  It uses detailed, referenced, decision trees and a step-by-step approach, covering prevention, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.  It incorporates AHFS Drug Information Essentials, which provides dosage information for most drugs. Its web version requires Tufts ID or Library Login.

MOBILE ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS

  • From a computer on the Tufts network access this link: BMJ Best Practice and click Create Account.

  • Fill out and complete the personal account creation form.

  • The app is available for download in the App Store or Play Store.
  • Log in with the email and password you set up when registering for an account.

 

ClinicalKey App

LICENSED APP

Contains Elsevier's medical and surgical content in one interface with access to over 1100 books, over 500 journals, thousands of videos and millions of images. Includes information from First Consult, which can be found at the top of search results for select topics. This app is available for  both Android and iOS devices (iPhone and iPad).

MOBILE ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS

1. Download Clinical Key from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store(Android).

2. After installing and opening the app, choose the "Global" edition. Then, two options should appear: Click on 'Clinical Key'.

3. Enter your ClinicalKey username and password to begin using the app (SEE Register for an Account below).

REGISTER FOR AN ACCOUNT

  1. Go to ClinicalKey (desktop version) and click 'Register' in the top right corner.
  2. Use your tufts.edu email address to fill in the required information on the registration page.
  3. Click 'Register' when finished. ClinicalKey will display an activation message and sends a confirmation email.
  4. In the confirmation email, click the link to officially start your remote access*.

*This will grant 180 days of remote access. Prior to the end of the 180 days, log into your ClinicalKey personal account while on the Tufts network. This will extend your access another 180 days. Should your remote access expire, follow the above steps to re-activate your access.

DynaMed

UPDATE: You must follow these instructions every 3 months, in order to re-authenticate to use the app.

New Dynamed app

Created by physicians for use primarily at the 'point-of-care', the DynaMed App is updated daily and monitors the content of over 500 medical journals and systematic-review databases.

MOBILE ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: You must follow these steps every 90 days to retain access

1. If not already installed: download the free DynaMed app from the App store or Google Play.

 

2. To authenticate, access the Library's Desktop version of DynaMed and sign in OR create a personal account using the "sign in" link at the upper portion of the screen). NOTE: you MUST sign in or create an account using the above Desktop version link for DynaMed to authenticate on the Tufts Network.

 

3.  From your mobile device, sign into DynaMed app using the personal account you created using the SIGN IN option. DO NOT USE THE INSTITUTIONAL NETWORK OPTION. 

4.  For first time users, the DynaMed App opens on your device and begins the initial content download.     

NOTE: It is recommended that you are on a Wi-Fi connection for the initial download of DynaMed content as well as when updates become available.

NIH Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality's US Preventive Services Task Force (ePSS) App is designed to help primary-care clinicians identify screening, counseling, and preventive medications and guidelines that are appropriate for their patients.  Its A & B ratings are covered by insurance plans, and starred ratings reflect recent changes.

UpToDate Anywhere

MOBILE ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS

1. Access UpToDate, from the library's homepage: http://www.library.tufts.edu/ezproxy/ezproxy.asp?LOCATION=UpToDate.

2. Click the 'Register' link in the upper right corner of the screen.

  • To register, complete all fields then click Submit Registration.
  •  If you already have an UpToDate User Name and Password, proceed to step #3 and download the app.

NOTE: Upon completion of the registration process, you will receive a confirmation email from UpToDate. 

3. Download the mobile app: App Store | Google Play Store | Amazon App Store.

4. From the app, log in with your UpToDate User Name and Password.

NOTE: You only need to do this once – the app remembers your User Name and Password. 

 

WEB INSTRUCTIONS

In addition to the Mobile App, you can access UpToDate from any computer with internet access.  

1. Access UpToDate, from the library's homepage: http://www.library.tufts.edu/ezproxy/ezproxy.asp?LOCATION=UpToDate.

2. Click the 'Log In' link in the upper right corner of the screen.

NOTE: In order to maintain uninterrupted access to UpToDate Anywhere, always access UpToDate from the Hirsh Health Sciences website. If you don’t you will be prompted to re-verify your affiliation with Tufts University once every 90 days.
