Research Guides@Tufts
Searching for articles on a topic? Databases can help you.
A database searches a particular collection of items, usually primarily articles but sometimes including other items such as theses, conference proceedings, newspapers, etc.... No one database searches all items in the world. It’s important to be aware of what literature the database you are using searches. This is also referred to as the database’s coverage.
It is also important to note what resources are free to use. If you go into private practice, as many dentists do, you may not have access to the paid services. It’s thus important to be particularly familiar with and able to use the free resources.
Below are some databases that are particularly helpful for Dentistry. Please remember you may always come to us for help with your search.
