Point-of-Care Resources

Connect to UpToDate from the Tufts network on the Boston Campus only.  The Tufts Medical Center and various Tufts-affiliated healthcare organizations have their own login routes.

Its references don't invoke our FindIt@Tufts buttons.  To reach the full text, copy the article title into the search box on PubMed@Tufts or into OvidMedine's search box and select the Title radio button.  Then follow the FindIt@Tufts links or PubMed publishers' icons (if you are on the Tufts network).

MOBILE ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS

1. Access UpToDate, from the library's homepage: https://resources.libraries.tufts.edu/?Location=UpToDate.

2. Click the 'Register' link in the upper right corner of the screen.

• To register, complete all fields then click Submit Registration.
•  If you already have an UpToDate User Name and Password, proceed to step #3 and download the app.

NOTE: Upon completion of the registration process, you will receive a confirmation email from UpToDate. 

3. Download the mobile app: App Store | Google Play Store | Amazon App Store.

4. From the app, log in with your UpToDate User Name and Password.

NOTE: You only need to do this once – the app remembers your User Name and Password. 

WEB INSTRUCTIONS

In addition to the Mobile App, you can access UpToDate from any computer with internet access.  

1. Access UpToDate, from the library's homepage: https://resources.libraries.tufts.edu/?Location=UpToDate.

2. Click the 'Log In' link in the upper right corner of the screen.

NOTE: In order to maintain uninterrupted access to UpToDate Anywhere, always access UpToDate from the Hirsh Health Sciences website. If you don’t you will be prompted to re-verify your affiliation with Tufts University once every 90 days. 

Its topics provide expert opinion on most conditions and medical procedures with updated bibliographies that link to PubMed records.

You can limit your search results by age (adult or pediatric) or to patient (handouts) or articles with graphics.

Simply enter a condition or procedure, then select from the suggested topics.

To see the full text of cited articles

• run PubMed@Tufts in another browser window
• click on the PubMed ID at the bottom of UptoDate's reference window
• click the publisher's icon.
