Evidence-Based Dentistry (EBD)

It may seem like it's simple to ask a question to start the EBD process. However, what type of question you have impacts where you go to find an answer and what type of information you're looking for.

In order to successfully ask an appropriate EBD question, you need to be able to:

• Summarize the difference between a background and a foreground question
• Recognize and define PICO format
• Determine if a foreground question is appropriate
• Identify the appropriate domain for a given PICO
