Bloomberg: Accessing Bloomberg

Access

Bloomberg terminals are open to all members of the Tufts community.  Users typically must log onto the machine with their Tufts username and password.  Bloomberg use is for non-commercial, academic research only.

Three Bloomberg terminals are in the Ginn Library and two Bloomberg terminals are in the Data Lab at Tisch Library.

Bloomberg

Bloomberg is recognized as the industry standard for financial databases. Use Bloomberg to find nearly any type of financial data, including equities, fixed income, indices, commodities, currencies, and more. Bloomberg has data on more than 5 million bonds, equities, commodities, currencies & funds. It covers most every publicly traded company in the world, and has profiles on more than a million people.

Data Limits

Each Bloomberg terminal has monthly download limits to Excel that are strictly enforced by Bloomberg.  Limits vary based on market data type.  When the terminal is at its monthly limit users will see #N/A LIMIT error message in Excel.  The data limits will automatically reset on the first of the month.  Please let a reference librarian know when the terminal has reached its limit.

Please remember no systematic downloading.  Be considerate of fellow students - always download only what you need.
